Speak Out/Khuluma

Strategic High Level Tea Engagement

Speak Out/Khuluma End Sexual Harassment Now! Is a project focused on eliminating violence against women and girls as well as to sustain respect for women’s bodily integrity and autonomy? The project is primarily targeted at women in 2 Tertiary Institutions and 2 Companies based in Bulawayo .The secondary targets are those in legislative authority towards the Ratification of the International Labour Organisation ILO Convention 190 which has recommendations and guidelines towards eliminating violence and harassment in the world of work. The project is being implemented upon the realization of the limited provisions that address sexual harassment in institutional policies as well as in the Labour Relations Act Chapter (28.01) which informs policies that address sexual harassment and safe reporting mechanisms in the workspace. The program therefore engages Student Representative councils as well as workers unions towards advocating for comprehensive policy frameworks that eliminate sexual harassment in the learning environment as well as in the world of work.
